Greetings From The Mountains of Virginia

British by birth, American by choice & fortunate to be living in the foothill mountains of the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia.

I enjoy nature, animals, meeting people & traveling to out-of-the-way places.

Since leaving the classroom I find I am addicted to my camera. My photo inventory reflects my adventures.

After filling requests for original note cards for family & friends, I decided to make them available to others.

The Shenandoah Valley with it mountains is also the home to Bustleburg Studio.  It became an official local business in 2009 when I finally decided, at the urging of friends & family, to Blog my experiences with my photography and note cards.

You will find some of my photographs and Bustleburg Original Note Cards throughout the Blog.

Thank you for stopping by, hopefully, you will find a few images that make you smile or just want to get outside and enjoy where you live.

Eagle Up Date

The young eaglet hasn’t been seen the last few times we have check on the nest.

We had seen her going through her flight , flapping motions and getting some  considerable air before dropping back safely into the nest.

One time we did see the adults soaring overhead but no sign of the eaglet. Pretty sure she has left the nest for solo flights by now.

We did catch her changing positions in the nest one afternoon last week, so we know she is still there.

Will keep checking. Getting more difficult to catch a glimpse of the eagles as the trees/leaves have filled in the areas where we could see them.

Storm Sky

Twilight Zone Anyone?

We had a storm last evening and the sun was behind the rain. My husband had his camera handy and snapped off a few shots. Haven’t seen a sky look like this before.

Armageddon

It really did look the earth was on fire!

At one point there was a pink tint to all of this but it  passed quickly. Thankfully, we had no damage from the storm.

Thank You!

Thank you to Beth for the following:

“Christine really expresses her love of photography through these beautiful note cards. Her attention to the detail of nature is what makes these cards so unique!”
